A recently released study by Harris Interactive® found that 65% of owners of Anti-Virus programs do not update the software on a regular basis so that their protection is “out of date”. Andrew Lee, chief research officer at ESET, manufacturer of NOD32, pointed out that this creates a false sense of security.
If you are protected by NOD32, you receive automatic updates in the background which do not disrupt other running applications.

WIN32/Sober.Y worm identified as top threat by ESET’s Virus Radar Online for an unwelcome Thanksgiving guest…
The new version of the worm posts a message purportedly from the FBI or CIA about visits to illegal websites and asks recipients to open an attachment, which installs and executes the worm on the recipient system. Read more…

Win32/Netsky.Q Worm Continues to be top threat
ESET’s Virus Radar Online reports that the top active virus in the last 24 hours continues to be the Win32/Netsky.Q Worm followed by the HTML/Phishing.gen Trojan. The Netsky.Q worm spreads via email as an attachment which is commonly named with an extension of .zip, .doc, .txt, .exe, .scr. or .pif. There may be a message at the end of the email implying that the message has been checked by an anti-virus program which appears with the following text "+++ Attachment: No Virus found".
