Instructions to transition from ESET NOD32 version 2 or version 3 to version 4:

1. Read the new installation guide:

http://download.eset.com/manuals/ERA_Manual_ENU.pdf

2. Download and install the latest version of the ESET NOD32 Client, RA Server and Console. Your existing RA server may be used for this, but you should remove components of the old product versions and reboot first. You will be using the Version 4 client installer to build the v4 remote installation package after you have first installed it locally to protect the server machine.

4. Configure the mirror(s) as appropriately described in section 2.2.3.3 of the manual - including the applicable program components. Keep the default paths provided in the update tab. The new update port is 2221 not 8081.

5. Build an uninstall package for version 2 and\or version 3. Make sure to apply the correct command line instructions for a seamless NOD32 removal.

6. Build a new configuration package using the new installer and new configuration editor.

7. Uninstall version 2.7 and version 3 from the network using the applicable uninstaller built in step 5. Make sure all machines are rebooted prior to installing version 4

8. Push the version 4 NOD32 installer out to clients with the new XML settings.

9. Check to make sure NOD32 clients are checking in with new RA server and properly getting the updates.

Value Added Service

Don't have the time or expertise to perform the upgrade?
Our fee based remote access installation and configuration service can save you time, money and frustration. We will complete all of the tasks mentioned on the above web page. The training oriented service performs:

  • Removal of prior versions from the server (reboot required).
  • Installing the new RA Server and Console on the server.
  • Creating all necessary mirrors for now and the future.
  • Creating all uninstallers including Command line codes (reboots required).
  • Creating a client XML with you (while training you to create more),
  • Pushing the uninstaller and new installer to a couple machines to ensure you are comfortable and have seen a successful progression on your network.

You will then have hands-on experience to finish the process across the network using the packages we build for you. We need remote access to the Server and possibly a couple client machines to ensure a smooth transition.

Please let us know if you are interested in this time saving service by calling SALES at 303.232.9070, option 2.
